Moonfleet Marine offers high quality day boats to seat up to 6 people, these are available in both diesel engine and super quiet electric options.

The launches are easy to drive and complete with a hood for those 'pesky' showers or to provide shade when needed. Buoyancy aids are provided free of charge and we do advise hirers to wear them.

Before you leave the boatyard you will be given instruction on how drive, moor up, advice on speed limits and information on the local area with a Broads map. All that is left for you to do is to relax, and plan your first stop off point for a picnic, barbecue or pub lunch !

Moonfleet Marine is located by the historic staithe at Stalham, near the upper reaches of the River Ant and not far from Barton Broad. Easily accessible by road, it is just off the main A149 and has plenty of free parking. The centre of Stalham is close by with a wide range of local shops, and a Tesco store. Stalham is also home to the Museum of the Broads which is well worth a look.

Suggested Full Day Excursion - Stalham to Ranworth Broad

Wind your way along the River Ant to Barton Broad, the second largest of the Norfolk Broads. Recently a huge project was undertaken by the Broads Authority to clean & restore the water quality here and as a result the Broad is home to a numerous quantity of wildlife including Kingfishers and Otters.

After the Broad and back onto the River you will sail through the picturesque village of Irstead. Some of the prettiest houses to be found on the Norfolk Broads line banks here with beautiful gardens winding down to their own moorings. Carrying along the River Ant you will pass under Ludham road bridge until a little further you will join the River Bure and make a right hand turn towards Ranworth. The Broad, known as 'Malthouse Broad', is sign posted from the main river.

On entering Ranworth Dyke you can clearly see the imposing village church of St Helen's, often known as the 'Cathedral of the Broads'. A large number of free moorings are provided on the village staithe where you will find a Broads Authority information centre, tea shop and gift store and across the road, a village pub. A visit to the village is not complete without climbing the famous church tower, which provides panoramic views of Broadland. The steps are numerous but the view is worth the effort!

This is not a 'round trip' so please allow time for the return trip.
